Verbos modales. Gramática
Los verbos modales son:
can (poder, saber)
could (podía, podría)
may (puedo)
might (podría)
will (futuro)
shall (futuro)
would (condicional)
should (debería)
ought to (debería)
must ( deber)
Reglas de construcción:
- Van seguidos de un verbo sin "to" (excepto "ought to").
Ej: I should eat / I ought to eat
- No se usan las partículas "do" o "does" (como en el resto de verbos) para construir las frases en negativo o interrogativo.
- En negativo van seguidos de "not":
can't / cannot
could not / couldn't
may not
might not / mightn't
will not / won't
should not / shouldn't
ought not to
must not / mustn't
Ej: I can’t swim
- En interrogativo se cambia el orden: verbo + sujeto
Ej: Can you swim?
